The idea
What is Battle City?
A retro arcade tank game for the whole room. Everyone drives their own colored tank from their phone while the map plays out live on the big screen. Blast through brick walls, hide in the trees, dodge the steel and tag the other tanks to score. But watch the base: if anyone's shot hits it, the game is over for everyone. Pick a map, add a few bots, and see who rules the arena.
Step by step
How to play Battle City
-
The host picks a map (Classic, Open, Siege or Forest), how many tags it takes to win, and up to 3 bots.
-
Your phone becomes a controller. Steer with the arrow pad and press Fire to shoot.
-
Hit another tank to score a point. Tagged tanks come back after 3 seconds.
-
Brick walls break when you shoot them, steel walls don't, and trees hide you as you drive through.
-
The first player to reach the target wins, or the last tank standing. If the base is hit, the game ends right away.
How many players?
1–4
players
Up to 4 players drive a tank each. Playing alone or with only 2? The host can add up to 3 computer bots so the arena never feels empty.
Tips & tricks
How to win at Battle City
-
Trees are the best hiding spot. Wait inside and surprise anyone who drives past.
-
Shoot through brick to open new paths, or leave it standing as cover.
-
Keep your shots away from the base. One stray bullet ends the game for everyone.
-
Bots aim for the base, so someone has to stay back and defend it.
-
"Base only" mode (0 tags to win) turns it into a survival game: last tank standing wins.

Questions
Battle City FAQ
How many players can play Battle City?
Up to 4 players, each driving their own tank from their phone. The host can add up to 3 computer bots on top.
Can I play Battle City alone?
Yes. Start a game with just yourself and add bots for opponents.
Does Battle City work over a video call?
It's a fast real-time game, so it plays best in the same room as the screen. Over a video call the delay makes steering hard.
Do players need to download an app?
No. Players scan the QR code on the host screen with their phone camera and play in the browser. No app, no account.
Is it free?
Yes, every game on Grouparty is free to play.
Ready to play Battle City?
Open a room, put it on the big screen and share the QR code. You'll be playing in under a minute.
